At first look the course appears to be short with very generous fairways, however, as you play the Steve Nugent-designed course, you will find many slight to severe dog legs and tall trees encroaching on almost every fairway. The sloped fairways and changing elevations give you a challenging line at best. The straight hitter or conservative player will manage this course very well. The longer hitter or more daring player will enjoy the rewards of navigating the course obstacles. The rough, combined with a few strategically placed fairway bunkers, make your approach shots to these well-bunkered greens more challenging.

Just when you think you have successfully navigated the fairways, the true test reveals itself. Undulating greens, severe slopes and slippery speed will keep even the best golfers playing defensively. In all, this is a fun and enjoyable course to play. Keep your drives in the fairway and your approach shots below the hole for your best chance of success at the Country Club of Ocala.
